Time for The House Beyond ***Your*** Sky! After a brief period of exclusivity, the amazing editors of Strange Horizons have graciously allowed me to add a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike License to my story "The House Beyond Your Sky". (This story, I've mentioned before, has been picked up for the Doziois, Strahan, and Horton best-of-the-year anthologies, This story is under a license that allows you to remix it. Now here is my plea: remix it! No one has done anything with "Start the Clock" yet, to my great disappointment. And I had such hopes! Now, I'm not asking for full-fledged fan fiction here! But surely you could put some quote from the story on a t-shirt, or briefly and satirically allude the story in a webcomic, or something! Or a dramatic reading on YouTube? Coasters? Interpretive dance? A pr0n version? Come on, people! It's a noncommercial creative commons license, but hey, if you want to write a prequel and sell it (and let's face it, with this story, pretty much any story you write would count as a prequel!), or whatever, I will almost certainly say "go with my blessing, my child", unless, you know, it's a film and your name is Spielberg, or something. (...of course, just reading it is fine too.) :-) Comments
About the only thing I could imagine doing with this is a translation into German, but I'm afraid that wouldn't count as a remix? Posted by: nex at January 10, 2007 03:29 AMThat would definitely count as a remix. Posted by: Benjamin Rosenbaum at January 10, 2007 10:16 AMWe should totally do an interpretive dance workshop with one of these stories at Wiscon. That could be *so fun*. Well, ok, *I* think it could be fun :-) Posted by: Heather Shaw at January 18, 2007 04:27 PMI would love that. Posted by: Benjamin Rosenbaum at January 18, 2007 10:26 PM |
