Collected At Wiscon I heard from Gavin Grant and Kelly Link that Small Beer Press wants to publish a full-length collection of short stories. By. Me. !!
It is, in other words, A Very Good Thing. I actually have enough stories for a full-length collection. Isn't that spiffy? The collection is to come out, perhaps, next Wiscon. Whee! Posted by benrosen at June 8, 2007 07:47 PM | Up to blogComments
Yay, Ben! That is incredibly awesome! I was actually wondering the other day when we would see a collection from you. W00t! Posted by: Jason Erik Lundberg at June 9, 2007 12:11 AMCongrats -- what terrific news! Posted by: Amy Sisson at June 9, 2007 01:31 AMWonderful news! Congrats!! Posted by: Jenn Reese at June 9, 2007 01:32 AMCongratulations! That's brilliant news. Posted by: Niall at June 9, 2007 03:14 AMBravo ben! Un salutone dall'amico italiano... Posted by: simone at June 9, 2007 06:18 AMMazel tov, again! Posted by: Lawrence Schimel at June 9, 2007 09:58 AMCongrats! Are you going to pick and choose from your bibliography or just publish the whole lot? Posted by: Jackie M. at June 9, 2007 10:54 PMAwwwwwwwwwwwwwesom! Posted by: Peter Hollo at June 10, 2007 12:41 AMYAY!!! Posted by: Mary Anne Mohanraj at June 10, 2007 09:07 AMSmall Beer Press + Ben Rosenbaum = Awesome. Woot. KB Posted by: Kelly Barnhill at June 10, 2007 01:29 PMThanks everyone! :-) Jackie, I think they're basically going to pick, though I expect they'll be amenable to my suggestions; also, I'm not sure how many of the unpublished stories are going in. (There are three that are sold and may or may not be out by May). I think it probably won't include the "Other Cities", since those are already in the chapbook. Posted by: Benjamin Rosenbaum at June 10, 2007 05:05 PMCan't wait. I've been following your ss in every place I can (mostly electronic) -- how happy I am that they'll be on my bookshelf. Posted by: Zvi at June 11, 2007 12:35 PMMazel tov! I hope the golden hammock will be at Wiscon too. Posted by: JessieSS at June 12, 2007 05:00 PM"As you know, Ben," I would very much like to have "The Frog Comrade" in the kind of format that can be purchased and shared with others -- i.e. not just a fading memory from your reading a year ago. Care to lobby for it on my behalf? Or put me in touch with the Small Brewers re: the three guaranteed sales they'd make with it? Posted by: Dan Percival at June 13, 2007 08:03 PMThanks Zvi & Jessie. (What golden hammock?) Dan, it's not just an issue of the Small Brewers, but also of, say, the market at which "The Frog Comrade" is currently submitted -- whether they want it, and when they can have it out by -- and if they don't want it, whether there's time to get it published somewhere else before May, or should I just go ahead and have it be the original story in the collection, or sell it elsewhere and have it wait its turn for some future collection. Decisions, decisions... Posted by: Benjamin Rosenbaum at June 14, 2007 10:30 AMAwesome! I thought it was going to be Nightshade, or at least thought I heard you say that at some point. I would definetly love to see some of those non-published unavailable stories as well. Posted by: David Jackson at June 19, 2007 08:54 PM |
