Fundamental Axis of Identity (Addendum to "Teatray, Prince of Bears") I asked Aviva why it was that she identifies with Arthur, not D.W., even though D.W. is a girl about her age, and Arthur is an eight-year-old boy. Aviva looked at me like I was crazy. "D.W. is the little sister -- Arthur is the big brother!" Forget Age and Gender -- they're of middling if any relevance. The fundamental axis of identity in Aviva's world? Birth Order. Posted by benrosen at November 10, 2004 03:58 PM | Up to blogComments
Ben; My 2-year-old neice loves to watch an episode of the Power-Puff Girls called "Under Cover" which deals with Buttercup's special blankey. Especially prised is the line where Buttercup refers to their house as "stupid." Posted by: Robert Burke Richardson at November 12, 2004 04:20 PMHmm. Is it on video? :-> Posted by: Benjamin Rosenbaum at November 12, 2004 04:25 PM^I've seen videos of it before (3 - 4 years ago), but I actually have most of them taped because I like it.
